Bangkok, August 7, 2026 — Another proud achievement was made by the students of Nizamia Andalusia School. Through their performance at The 3rd Thailand International Choral Festival (Thai ICF) 2026, the Nizamia Andalusia Choir (NAC) successfully brought home a Gold Medal in the Children Choir category, earning an impressive score of 83.78 points.

Held from August 3-7, 2026, at the Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok, Thailand, the festival brought together 21 choir groups from different countries to participate in a variety of activities, including choir competitions, friendship concerts, workshops, masterclasses, and other festival programs. NAC participated as part of the Indonesian delegation, bringing together 55 students, consisting of 36 students from Nizamia Andalusia Middle School (NAMS) and 19 students from Nizamia High School (NHS).

For the competition session, Nizamia Andalusia Choir performed two songs: "Bungong Jeumpa", a traditional song from Aceh that represents Indonesia's rich cultural heritage, and "Never Enough" from the movie The Greatest Showman. The combination allowed the team to present both Indonesian traditional music and an internationally familiar repertoire on the competition stage.

NAC also took part in the Friendship Concert, where the team performed "Cikala Le Pong Pong," a traditional song from North Sumatra. Through this performance, the students had the opportunity to introduce another part of Indonesia’s musical and cultural heritage to participants from different countries.

The achievement was supported by months of preparation. Before traveling to Thailand, the students went through a selection and intensive training process. The team spent approximately six months preparing for the competition, working on their vocal performance and rehearsing the pieces they would perform. Training was also conducted after school and during weekends as the students prepared for the international competition.

The training focused not only on vocal technique, but also on vocal harmony, articulation, dynamics, expression, and teamwork. With students coming from both NAMS and NHS, the preparation also provided an opportunity for the members to work together and develop their performance as one team.

Their preparation finally paid off when NAC achieved a score of 83.78 points, earning a Gold Medal in the Children Choir category. This achievement also continues the choir's positive progress after previously earning two Silver Medals in the Children's Choir and Teenager's Choir categories at the 5th International Bandung Choral Festival (IBCF) 2025.

For the students, participating in Thai ICF 2026 was also an opportunity to gain experience beyond the competition itself. Meeting other choir groups, performing in an international festival, and taking part in activities with participants from different countries allowed them to develop their musical skills while learning about teamwork, discipline, and cultural diversity.

This achievement is a proud moment for the students and the entire Nizamia Andalusia community. It also reflects the school’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to develop their talents and gain meaningful experiences through music and the arts.
