Jakarta, November 2025 — A powerful Saturday morning unfolded at the Nizamia Andalusia Primary School Auditorium, where 140 educators from all levels of Nizamia Andalusia School — Kindergarten, Primary, Middle, and High School — gathered with one shared purpose: to learn, to grow, and to inspire together.
The session, titled "Teaching Together, Growing Forever: Kolaborasi Guru dalam Komunitas Belajar". This time, the focus moved beyond what teachers teach to who teachers are — lifelong learners whose growth shapes the growth of others. The main session was led by Dr. Itje Chodidjah, M.A., a respected senior education practitioner who has dedicated decades to advancing teacher professionalism in Indonesia. With her warm, reflective storytelling, she invited teachers to pause and ponder a simple yet powerful truth: "Guru bukan hanya pengajar, tetapi juga pembelajar. Kita tak bisa menumbuhkan orang lain kalau kita berhenti bertumbuh". Through this reminder, participants were encouraged to rediscover the essence of being educators — not as isolated individuals, but as members of a learning community that thrives on connection, reflection, and collaboration.
Carrying the theme "Teaching Together, Growing Forever", the workshop introduced participants to the concept where teachers continuously share best practices, discuss real classroom challenges, and co-create meaningful solutions. Within these communities, collaboration becomes more than a buzzword; it transforms into a culture of mutual growth and shared purpose.
The morning grew richer with inspiring showcases from various educational movements such as Indorelawan, Read Aloud Indonesia, and Terang Jakarta, each demonstrating how collaboration and empathy can spark impactful educational change — from classroom practices to broader community initiatives. These stories reminded teachers that every act of sharing, no matter how small, contributes to the collective progress of education. "Collaboration gives us strength, reflection gives us clarity. Through this session, I realized that growth in education happens not in isolation, but in community" , said Ibu Mumun from Nizamia High School.
The atmosphere throughout the session was both reflective and joyful. Teachers exchanged stories, laughed together, and left the room with renewed enthusiasm to bring the spirit of collaboration into their classrooms. Many reflected that true professional growth happens not in isolation, but in dialogue — through listening, questioning, and building together.
By the end of the event, one message resonated deeply: education never stops at the classroom wall. It grows through conversations, reflections, and the shared courage of educators who choose to keep learning. Through Teaching Together, Growing Forever, Nizamia Andalusia School reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a culture where teachers are empowered to continuously learn, collaborate, and innovate. Because when teachers grow, education itself evolves — boundlessly and beautifully.
