World Book Day Celebration Fosters Literacy and Creativity at Nizamia Andalusia Middle School

Nizamia Andalusia Middle School successfully held its World Book Day celebration on April 29 and May 4, 2026, under the theme "Turn the Page and Join the Fun!". The event brought together students in a series of engaging and meaningful activities aimed at strengthening literacy skills, encouraging creativity, and fostering a deeper appreciation for reading.

A range of programs was carefully designed to involve students actively. The One Week One Book Challenge encouraged each student to read at least one book and write a structured review, supported by a daily reading journal. Through this activity, students were able to build consistent reading habits while improving their ability to analyze and express ideas in writing. Those who completed their work early were motivated to read more books and submit additional reviews.

Students also took part in the "A Day in the Library" Content Challenge, where they created short videos showcasing activities in the library. From sharing reading tips to recommending favorite books, this activity allowed students to explore their creativity while promoting positive literacy habits. Alongside this, the Quote Craft Challenge invited students to design meaningful quotes inspired by books or hadith, based on themes such as friendship, seeking knowledge, and obeying rules, combining creativity with thoughtful reflection.

The celebration became more vibrant with the Book Character Day, where students dressed up as their favorite literary characters. With creative costumes and confident performances, students demonstrated their understanding of the characters while expressing originality and attention to detail.

To further enrich the experience, the event included the Math Tricks Workshop, which introduced simple and engaging strategies to understand mathematical concepts, and the Literacy Workshop, which focused on enhancing reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in an interactive setting.

In addition to academic and creative activities, the Sedekah Ilmu program added a meaningful social element to the celebration. Through this initiative, students donated books to community reading centers around the school, promoting the spirit of sharing knowledge and extending the impact of literacy beyond the classroom.

Overall, the World Book Day celebration at Nizamia Andalusia Middle School provided a well-rounded and inspiring experience. It not only encouraged students to develop a love for reading but also supported their creativity, confidence, and social awareness, making the event both memorable and impactful for the entire school community.
